S. Joomla is developed using PHP. If u want to modify any script, u need to know PHP.

No, not really. Joomla! was designed to simplify page editing for people who don't know how to code (this includes PHP)

You will have to know some basic knowledge to get Joomla installed, because Joomla required two things. You have to have PHP installed on your server as well as have some type of database, such as MySQL set up.

The only thing that I think might require you to learn PHP is form data entry, but I think even the latest version of Joomla! does that for you.

Joomla is v.easy,...you don't need much php skills,..but some html and java,...php is used for mail server,...if you use it along with joomla ,...go here,... http://help.joomla.org/
